The
Slipcover has been around for centuries
The
Slipcover has been around for a long time. In old Europe, furniture was scarce
and was used many times in different rooms. Cushions made sitting in a hard wooden
stool more comfortable.
They
also added color to rooms with little or none.
In
the 18th century, simple tailored slipcovers were used to protect chair seats
that were done with rare and costly brocades.
In
the 19th century bright, colored, cotton slipcovers were very popular in households
of Europe and America. They not only became a stylish color decoration for a room
but protected against dirt and sunlight damage.
In
the early days of America, immigrants brought the slipcover to the new land. The
men would go to the customers house and cut the fabric to fit the furniture piece
then bring it back home for the women to sew the slipcover together.
The
Surefit slipcover continues this tradition bringing classic and bright colors
to protect your furniture and add color and decor to your room
